The primary thing you will require to do is sketch up your plans and gather together all the supplies you will need to construct the workbench. If you do not know how to build a folding workbench, then look for designs on the internet. Basicly you must lay 4 foot planks beside a 1 inch side and gap them 22 inches apart. The ends of the 4 foot boards have to butt up next to the insides of the end boards. Use two nails at every segment when securing them.Than you must place a piece of ply wood on the top of the frame. Make sure that the ply wood is flush with the frame of the workbench on all sides and ensure that there is no overhang on any of the sides. Space the nails six inches apart when attaching the ply wood to the frame. Turn the bench upside down to place the legs. Next, place a 3 x 3 inch leg upright in a corner and mount a hinge by keeping the leg to the post edge that faces toward the center of the table. The hinge must be screwed into the underside of the leg and then into the post itself. Then you must attach a hook lock into the end board about one inch from the post making sure the hook can reach the post. Once the hook is connected, attach the eye screw to the post at the correct place for the hook to contact it. Then next post must be located four inches away from the corner. Add another hinge in the same way as the first post as well to the eye screw. This procedure is to be repeated at the opposite end of the work bench. On the other end of the work bench, the post will be reversed, the offset leg of the other side. With this spacing, it allows the table legs to close in beneath the work table without the legs overlapping each other. Once you have finished this, turn the workbench up and inspect your work.
Folding legs make the table portable also allows trouble-free storage. These work benches are the ideal items for craftsmen to have, they can even be wall mounted when storing. With a good design, you can effortlessly build a folding workbench.
